ABOUT US

Welcome to the Coasts and Estuaries Research Group (CERG), where we research the dynamic processes and changes occurring within coastal and estuarine environments in Australia and beyond. CERG is a  multidisciplinary organisation that's research ranges from beach processes to tidal dynamics to estuarine health for frog populations to tsunami hazard and more. We are passionate about advancing knowledge and stewardship of estuarine and coastal environments to facilitate sustainable planning and management into the future.

Our members work in a broad range of fields from academia to industry and aim to foster partnerships with local communities, governing bodies, and environmental organisations to drive meaningful conversations and informed action to protect these valuable natural environments.

Please get in contact with us to hear more about our work and to collaborate and join the team!

The Coasts and Estuaries Research Group acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live, work, and do research - the many Indigenous nations that have been custodians of Country for tens of thousands of years. We extend our acknowledgement to the Awabakal people of the land on which the University of Newcastle Callaghan campus resides. We pay our respects to all Indigenous Elders past, present, and future.
